How it works
Quillington is a group story told by an AI narrator and steered by you and your friends, one decision at a time, at the pace of one chapter a day.
The loop
- The narrator writes a chapter and stops where someone has to choose.
- Everyone gets the chapter by email. If it's your character's choice, the options are right there.
- You pick on the site, or write your own move.
- A day later, at the same time of day, the narrator writes what happened. Repeat.
Between stories
When a story ends, any character from it can go on to the next one. They arrive remembering what happened to them.
Major and minor
The people who start the story are major characters, with the big decisions; characters the narrator introduces along the way start minor. Everyone has until the next chapter to move, and the story never waits: if you miss it, the narrator decides what your character does. A major who misses becomes minor; a minor who answers three in a row on time is promoted. Miss three in a row and anyone else in the story can invite someone to take your character over.
Price
Stories are paid in quills: one quill is 5 chapters and costs $2.50, so a story runs $10.00 for 20 chapters, $15.00 for 30 chapters or $22.50 for 45 chapters. One player pays and it covers everyone. Your very first story's first 10 chapters are free.
